GUYS!

[Michiho bursts onto the screen, except instead of her face there's...a very big moth whose wingspan takes up the majority of her face. You can still see her mouth though, grinning wide.]

Look! Look at this! There's so many new bugs now out of the labyrinth! Look, this is a Kona giant looper moth, they're extinct from Hawaii!

[She squeals and the moth flutters its wings a bit to go settle down on top of her head instead]

Isn't she gorgeous!? I swear I saw a Arthropleura around here too. If you see it, let me know right away! you can't miss it, it's an 8-foot long millipede! It's so cute, you'll want to give it a big ol' hug when you see it. They look super cuddly! [They do not. It's also probably not actually around, but Michiho can hope.

Despite her exuberance, she looks tired and there's still blood staining the front of her clothes and a little on the tips of her hair staining the silvery-white a rusted color.

There's also a giant centipede curling over her shoulder, which she pets fondly
]

Has anyone found anything else cool? I've been seeing butterflies too and a few jewel beetles!

--Oh, I'm Michiho, by the way. I just realized I never posted to this network before. If anyone's having any issues with insects, let me know, I'll help you out!

Before we all head into the labyrinth, I figure we should have a level playing field for making calls about risk.

If you die here, apparently you don't stay dead. You're down for two days or so, then you resurrect wherever your body happens to be. So it's probably a nice gesture, if you see a corpse in the maze, to drag them somewhere not totally inconvenient to wake up.

The temporarily dead also come back fully healed of injuries, but the penalty is some kind of personal loss. Think scars, tattoos, a digit, possibly more intangible qualities, etc. I have no idea what the rules are on that, so if anyone has any useful speculation, consider the floor open.

In fact, if anyone is familiar with this kind of thing back in your universes, you're invited to share with the class. The more we know about resurrection in general, maybe the more we can figure out about how it works here. Bonus marks if you have first hand experience.

Hello, citizens of Etraya.

I hope you are making yourselves at home.

Thank you for participating in our bonding activities during the previous mission. Your willingness to get to know one another is admirable and you should all give yourselves a pat on the back for a job well done. We hope you've come away with both the satisfaction of a job well done and maybe a new friend.

Your second mission will be a team exercise and will begin in four days.

You will enter the Labyrinth that has appeared outside of the city dome. As the Labyrinth is meant to be a challenge one person cannot overtake alone, some of you may find that your extraordinary abilities are affected to some degree, ensuring you will not fly through the challenge in a wink. Teamwork is necessary and the Labyrinth itself will be making sure everyone is working together.

If you have brought any animal companions with you, you may choose to bring them into the Labyrinth or leave them in my care. Please note for the duration of the mission, the city will not be inhabitable by those who require oxygen to breathe. Please do not leave any companions behind in apartment buildings.

If you have any questions, please ask them now.

Thank you,
Aurora
